FrankFred Review
It’s incredible how many casino sites have now added lotteries to their games. FrankFred.com is such a site. There are only six lotteries to bet on, but they do add their personal touch to the options. Remember though this is betting and not actually buying tickets and usually the payout doesn’t follow the usual tiers offered by official lotteries – thought online betting sites do use the official winning numbers published. It is essential to see what they are offering as winnings.
Games at Frank & Fred Casino
FrankFred.com offers players six lotteries to bet on. There are the usual US Powerball & Mega Millions and EuroMillions and EuroJackpot plus German 6aus49 and Dino Lotto. Dino Lotto is based on the results from the official European lottery “EuroMillionen” organized by the LAE. Because this is betting, there are a few other options offered including a Boosterball/Dino Lotto, Double Jackpot & Number Shield. Double Jackpot & Number Shield applies to the jackpot in each game. Take the Double Jackpot option, and yes, the jackpot is paid out double the published amount. Number Shield protects players from sharing the jackpot with others.
Frank & Fred & Winning
Keep in mind for each of these the prize tier is slightly different from the published results. For Powerball & Mega Millions, Frank & Fred opt to pay out on an annuity basis (over 30 years) plus they take 35% off the top for withholding tax. In their words, that places the player in the same position as any other winners. For the jackpot level, if there are winners in the official lottery, it is split against how many winners there are total – unless you’ve got “Number Shield.”
Getting Your Winnings from Frank & Fred Casino
There is no information under the lottery section of the FrankFred.com terms and conditions on how quickly money is paid or what is involved in getting it. They do say that they will pay out up to 50 million Euros or US Dollars in one lump sum and any amount over this that is due to the winner will be paid in installments each year for 30 years. Under the casino part of their site, there is a minimum withdrawal amount of €20 and processing can take up to 72 business hours though amounts over €2,330 could require additional documentation hence take longer. There are no fees or commission.
Jackpot Chaser
There is an option to subscribe for betting on any specific lottery when the jackpot gets to a certain level and hasn’t been won. It’s only for the next draw date, so I guess that’s more a multi-game bet though it only kicks in if the jackpot wasn’t won for the game you’ve gotten in on.
Who are Frank & Fred
Supposedly Frank and Fred are brothers who set up online casino play and then added lottery betting. They call it their “boom shakalaka casino.” The lottery side of this site is operated by PlayCherry Ltd. licensed and registered in Malta. Live Chat is available 10:00 – 21:00 CET in Finnish, 10:00 to 23:00 for Norwegian, 10:00 to 23:00 for Swedish and 10:00 to 19:00 for everyone else. There are a snail mail and email address.
Who Can Play at FrankFred.com?
Players have to be 18 years of age or older and cannot to be residents of American Samoa, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bonaire, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, East Timor, France, French Guyana, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Guam, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Martinique, Netherlands, New Caledonia, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Saint Barthélemy (St, Barts), Saint Martin, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Slovenia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and Wallis & Futuna (South Pacific French Overseas Protectorate).
Frank & Fred and the Bottom Line
With only six lotteries – and no syndicates – I’d pass on this one. The other issue is the whole tiers regarding the actual prizes. Oh – and of course, the fact that Mega Millions and Powerball pay out only in an annuity and only after they deduct 35%. There is also the lengthy list of who can’t play at this site. The good news is you can’t register if you are from one of those countries.
Pros:
No Fees or Commission on Winnings
Double Jackpot & Number Shield Options
Good Live Chat
Cons:
Only Six Lotteries to Play
Amount of People in Countries that Can’t Play
Only Annuity Payout for Powerball and Mega Millions
FrankFred.com gets a thumb’s down for the fact that there are so many people who can’t play here and a thumb’s up for the fact they can’t even register to play – the system won’t let them.
